Charlene Marie (Cote) Gomes

Charlene Marie (Cote) Gomes, 65, of Manchester, peacefully journeyed Home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 with family by her side to be re-united with her son and father with Our Lord in Heaven. Born in Madawaska, ME on December 18, 1949 she had been a resident of Hartford, East Hartford, and Manchester for most of her adult life. She was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, Class of 1967. Charlene was a faithful member of Crossroads Community Cathedral in East Hartford and was an avid reader of the Bible. She enjoyed being around her family and friends and having many conversations with all of them. Charlene is survived by three devoted children, Stephen M. Gomes, Jr. and his wife, Rachel, of East Hartford, Summer T. Gomes of East Hartford, Jason J. Gomes of Wallingford; a step-son, Marcus Wood and his wife, Shelly, of Rocky Hill; thirteen cherished grandchildren, Chassidy, Brianna, Alex, Ian, Jazmine, Isaiah, Jaylen, Alicia, Parker, Sophie, Maryiah, Mia, and Nora; and one adored great-granddaughter, Khloe ""Klo Klo"" Cote. She also leaves her mother, Phelime (Chasse) Cote of Wethersfield; a brother, Richard J. Cote and his wife, Janet, of Kensington; three sisters, Linda Kennedy and her husband, Bill, of Avon, Ann Tetreault of Plainville, Renee Morales and her husband, Michael, of Wethersfield; a daughter-in-law, Maribel Morales of Hartford; her former husband, Stephen M. Gomes, Sr. of Avon; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Charlene was predeceased by a son, Richard M. Cote of Hartford and her father, Valere Cote of Hartford. Funeral service will be Tuesday (May 26th) at 12 noon at Crossroads Community Cathedral, 1492 Silver Lane, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of her family. Calling Hours will be Tuesday morning from 10:30 am to 12 noon directly at the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlene's name may be made to Crossroads Community Cathedral, 1492 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT 06118.
