

Christine Phillips, 73, of East Hartford, died Friday, (February 13, 2009) in Manchester surrounded by her family. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Charles E. and Vivian B. (Keys) Moir, Christine was a life-long resident of East Hartford. She was employed by the Board of Education in East Hartford for many years and was a graduate of East Hartford High School, class of 1953. Christine was a former member and past secretary of the East Hartford Women's Club. She was an avid gardener, a quilter and was known for her counted-cross stitch and donated many of her pieces to area fundraisers. Christine was a loving mother to four children. She was predeceased by a cherished son, Bruce E. Phillips and is survived by three cherished children; a son, Stephen F. Phillips, Jr. of East Hartford; two daughters, Sharon Goslee and her husband Howard of Cookeville, TN and formerly of South Windsor, and Lauren Falade-Owens of Voluntown; a daughter-in-law Dorinda Phillips; four brothers, Kirk Moir and his wife Kay, Richard Moir and his wife Marilyn, Francis Moir and his wife Maureen and Verne Moir and his wife Linda; two sisters, Loretta Calano-Dienst and her husband Daniel and Sandra D'Attilio and her husband Raymond; seven grandchildren, Stacy King, Heather Rundle, Stephanie Goslee, Michael Falade, Daniel Falade, Amanda Falade and J.R. Owens and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday February 18th beginning at 8:45 a.m. from the D'Esopo, East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road, South Windsor. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery, Broad Brook. Calling hours will be TuesdayFebruary 17th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel in East Hartford.
