

Donald W. “Buck” Greene, 72, of East Hartford, loving husband of 36 years of the late Adele “Pinkie” (Lombardo) Greene, peacefully journeyed home to join his beloved Adele on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on June 25, 1952, a son of the late Donald C. and Marsylvia (Lawson) Greene, he had been a resident of East Harford for the past 60 years. Donald was a graduate of East Hartford High School, class of 1970. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Truck Driver by Coca-Cola of East Hartford for 36 years, and a member of the Teamsters Local 1035 in South Windsor.
A sports enthusiast, Donald loved to watch and play sports, especially golf with his friends and family. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Celtics. Buck liked listening to all genres of music while in his garage or in his home. He also took great pride in his lawn riding his lawn tractor cutting the grass “his way”. He had a special talent tinkering on automobiles and motorcycles and liked refurbishing and painting all styles of vehicles and bikes. Most of all, Donald was a devoted and caring husband to his wife for many years.
Donald is survived by his four children, Jayson D. Greene and his wife Ronee of Holly Springs, NC, Kevin J. Greene and his wife Jennifer of North Carolina, Lindsey C. Greene of West Haven, Corey L. Greene of East Hartford with whom he made his home; seven grandchildren, Annabella, Chase, Cameron, Fiona, Benjamin, Isabelle, and Liam. He also leaves his sister, Margaret “Maggie” Greene of Pinehurst, NC; his several Lombardo in-laws; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Honoring Donald’s wishes, private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Donald’s name may be made to Survivors of Homicide, Inc., 530 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 380, Wethersfield, CT 06109 which was a charity very dear to Donald. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
