Eric D. Stiles, 73, of Wethersfield, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, following a courageous battle with throat cancer. Born on February 23, 1952, he was the son of the late Frank Sr. and Olive (Owen) Stiles.
A man of many trades, Eric took great pride in his work, especially his time as a woodworker in Iowa. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking and playing cards. Eric was a lifelong dog lover and cherished the many dogs he had throughout his life, often taking them on long walks. He was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys.
Eric is survived by his devoted partner, Linda Fries; his cherished brother, Frank Stiles Jr., and his wife, Connie; his niece, Katherine Rogers, and her husband, Chris; his nephew, Tom Stiles, and his wife, Opal; and his great-nephew, Jacob Rogers, all of East Hartford.
A graveside service to honor Eric’s life will be held on April 18, 2026, at 11 am in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Eric’s name to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
