

Frank J. Fronczek, 98, of East Hartford, loving husband for 64 years to the late Frances (Siwek) Fronczek, died on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Webster, MA on April 6, 1913, a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Rygiel) Fronczek, he had resided in East Hartford for over 68 years. Prior to his retirement in 1979, Frank was the owner and operator for over 25 years of Frank’s Radio & Television, Main Street, East Hartford. A devout Catholic, Frank was a long-time active communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus-Council #3901, East Hartford where he was a past Faithful Navigator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard and a loyal fan of the New York Yankees. Frank was also a member of the South End Senior Citizens and the St. Christopher Church Social Club, both in East Hartford, and of the Polish National Alliance #464. A ten-pin bowler for most of his life, Frank participated in many area leagues at the Silver Lane AMF Bowling Alley, East Hartford, where he was bowling until two years ago. Frank is survived by his three caring daughters, Regina Schultz and her husband, Ray, of East Hartford, Irene Turner of Vernon, and Rita A. Borovicka and her husband, Charley, of Coventry; two sisters, Margaret Smith of New Britain, and Josephine Bottieri of Webster, MA; seven special grandchildren; seven adored great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Besides his wife and parents, Frank was predeceased by a son and his wife, Fred and Mary Fronczek both of East Hartford, a son-in-law, William E. Turner of Vernon, and a great-granddaughter, Rachael Schultz of Torrington.
Funeral services will be Monday (August 8th) at 9:30 am from the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Sunday (August 7th) from 4-6 pm.
