Frank G. Russell, Jr., 96, of East Hartford, CT died at home on October 20, 2025. Born in Hartford, CT in 1929, the son of the late Frank G. Russell, Sr. and the late Dorothy Russell, Frank (Junie) was raised in West Hartford and then moved his growing family to East Hartford where he lived the rest of his life. Frank worked and retired from Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, CT where he worked as an experimental machinist. Frank loved his family and his church, Memorial Baptist of Hartford, CT. He enjoyed sharing his cottage at Columbia Lake with family. Many wonderful times were had at WENEEDA REST. Frank was an avid gardener and shared extra produce with his church family. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Hartford, CT for 83 years.
Frank was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Margaret (Peggy) Moseley Russell and his sisters Marjorie Johnson and Fay Trowbridge and daughter-in-law Angela Russell.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Michael Giberson of South Windsor, CT; his son Frank Russell, III of Vernon, CT; his son Alan Russell of Tewksbury, MA; his daughter and son-in-law Deborah and Jonathan Henderson of Hyde Park, VT; his son and daughter-in-law Paul and Marie Russell of Niantic, CT and his son Robert Russell of Deep River, CT. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15 at 11:30 am at Memorial Baptist Church, 142 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford, CT followed by a burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, NE 68010 or the Remembrance Fund of Memorial Baptist Church, 142 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford, CT 06114.
