Frederick Philip “Freddie” Parlante, 78, of New Britain and formerly of East Hartford, loving husband of 45 years of the late Shirley (Sawczysyn) Parlante, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at his home. Born in Hardwick, Vermont on September 23, 1945, a son of the late Anneo and Olga (Petrello) Parlante, he had resided in East Hartford for most of his life prior to moving to New Britain a few years ago. Freddie was a former truck driver who loved fishing and boating. He was also an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, Boston Red Sox, and UConn Women’s basketball team.
Freddie is survived by his two children, Janice M. Lacerna and her husband Andrew of Chesapeake, VA, and Thomas C. Parlante of East Harford; two special grandsons, Christopher Renta and Jacob Parlante; and one adored great-grandson, Konnor West. He also leaves two brothers, Michael P. Parlante and his wife Patty of East Hartford, Mark S. Parlante of Fort Pierce, FL; two sisters, Maureen Rossi of Lakeland, FL, Debra Parlante of Alabama; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Freddie was predeceased by three sisters, Anna Marie Carter, Patty Hyde, Dolores Perrine, and a brother, Bob Parlante.
Funeral service will be Thursday (February 22nd) at 11 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, (Section 30), Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday morning (February 22nd) from 9:30 am to 11 am.
