

Ghislaine C. (Longchamps) Baron, 72, of East Hartford, loving wife for over 53 years of Real G. Baron, peacefully passed away with her caring family by her side on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Lac Megantic, Province of Quebec, Canada on January 15, 1942, a daughter of the late Leon and Simone (Richard) Longchamps, she had resided in East Hartford for the past 41 years. Ghislaine was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church, East Hartford and was formerly very involved with La Renconte in the Hartford area. She was a proud homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother who loved cooking for her family and friends.
Besides her beloved husband, Real, Ghislaine is survived by three daughters, Linda Gustafson and her husband, Stephen, of Vernon, Chantal Baron of Montreal, Canada, Sonia Baron of Bristol; two brothers, Marcel Longchamps and Renald Longchamps both of Canada; six special grandchildren; one adored great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday (June 3rd) at 9:30 am from the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, May Road/Brandon Road, East Hartford. Burial will be held at a later date in Quebec, Canada. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday (June 2nd) from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ghislaine’s name may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, Attn: Donations, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923.
