

Harold Newton Blinn, 82, of East Hartford, husband of Doris (Rioux) Blinn died Sunday (September 16, 2012) at Salmon Brook Convalescent Home in Glastonbury after a long illness. Born in Hartford on November 13, 1929, he was the son of Harold and Dorothy (Clark) Blinn and lived in Florida for 17 years, returning to East Hartford in 2009. He was employed as a service representative at the Connecticut Natural Gas Co. for 38 years before his retirement in 1989. Harold enjoyed playing the accordion and had performed on local radio shows and with many area bands including the Nu-Tones. Besides his wife of 65 years, Doris, he is survived by three children; a son, Gary L. Blinn and his wife Patricia of Glastonbury; two daughters, Elaine Aubrey and her husband Donald of Charlestown, RI and Jan Weston and her husband Thomas of Storrs; a brother, Burton Blinn of Glendale, CA; a sister, Beverly Blinn of Northampton, MA; six grandchildren, Michael Dennen, Sarah Blinn, Joseph Blinn and Jake Mossman, Matthew and Gregory Weston; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Suzanne Mossman, a granddaughter Teri Dennen and a sister Joyce Toce.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday (September 20) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford, CT 06118. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday (September 21) at 12 noon in Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road, East Hartford, CT. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church.
