Irene M. (Auclair) Pelletier, 103, formerly of East Hartford, peacefully entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at St. Mary’s Home in West Hartford. Irene was the loving wife for many years of the late Arthur “Pete” L. Pelletier. Born in Groveton, NH on May 29, 1922, a daughter of the late Arthur L. and Rose (Mayotte) Auclair, she had been a resident on Roxbury Road, East Hartford for over 58 years prior to entering St. Mary’s Home. During her life, Irene was a hard-working individual and a devout catholic faithfully attending St. Christopher Church in East Hartford. She enjoyed gardening and caring for her yard and home, as well as being a member of the East Hartford Southend Senior Center where she had many friends.
Along with her beloved husband and parents, Irene was predeceased by all her sisters and brothers; a nephew, Bishop Donald L. Pelletier, a Missionary Priest in Madagascar, Africa; and a special niece, Gertrude Pelletier Laferriere. Irene is survived by several grandnieces, grandnephews, dear friends, and former neighbors.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (October 22, 2025) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at St. Christopher Church of North American Martyrs Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, (Section New B), Hillside Street, East Hartford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Irene’s name may be made to Our Lady of LaSalette Charitable Legacy, c/o Roman Catholic Foundation, 425 N.
