James Michael Fogarty

James “Jim” M. Fogarty, 59, of East Hartford, went on his eternal fishing trip Saturday, July 16, 2022. Born in Hartford on July 9, 1963, a son of Clara May (Graves) Fogarty of East Hartford and the late Charles F. Fogarty, he had been a life-long resident of the East Hartford area. Jim was a graduate of George J. Penney High School in East Hartford, class of 1981. He worked many years as a Sheet Metal Roofer and was a member of Local 40 in Manchester. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He also liked driving his Camaro and was a fan of NASCAR racing. Jim was a sports enthusiast and a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Washington Redskins football team.

Along with his beloved mother Clara of East Hartford, Jim is survived by his two loving daughters, Rachael M. Ursin and her husband Devin of East Hartford, Marissa L. Fogarty and her fiance Korey Mitchell of Manchester; two brothers, Charles F. Fogarty, III and his wife Cindy of South Dakota, Timothy J. “TJ” Fogarty of South Windsor; two sisters, Kathleen F. McGivern and her husband Kevin of Harwinton, Susan M. Seitz and her husband John of Falls Village. He also leaves two adored grandchildren, Nora Ursin and Cameron Ursin; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, former co-workers, and dear friends.

Funeral service will be Friday (July 22, 2022) with a graveside service celebrating Jim’s life at 11 am at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section P), Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield. There are no calling hours. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the gravesite on Friday morning. The D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
