
James Richard Magaldi, age 66, of Tolland died on Saturday (October 2, 2010) after a hard fought 23 year battle with multiple sclerosis. He was born in Castleton, VA on February 11, 1944. He grew up in Hartford and attended Weaver High School. Mr. Magaldi was a painting contractor until illness forced a premature retirement. He also was an avid sports fan, former Boy Scout leader, Little League coach and artist. Mr. Magaldi was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He leaves his mother, Beatrice (Salyer) Magaldi, his wife, Cynthia (Fleet) Magaldi, and children, Dawn Marie Magaldi Pesce (Tim), Anthony G. Magaldi (Linda), Michael J. Magaldi (Donna). He also leaves grandchildren Ashley, Ryan, Alaina, Abigail and McKaela. He also leaves his sister, Barbara Kwasney-Burrows and many nieces and nephews. He leaves a special friend and companion, Tallulah. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony S. Magaldi. The family wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to the Visiting Nurses Association of Eastern Connecticut, the ICU and Hospice staffs at Rockville General Hospital and to the Tolland Volunteer Ambulance Association. Funeral services will be Tuesday (October 5, 2010) at 10:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road/Brandon Road, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Monday (October 4, 2010) from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James R.
