Jean M. (Thuotte) Beakey, 89, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late former East Hartford Police Department Captain, Thomas F. Beakey, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 17, 2019. Born in Brockton, MA on December 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Perrault) Thuotte. Jean grew up and resided in Brockton, MA for several years prior to moving to Connecticut where she resided for the rest of her life. Prior to her retirement, Jean was a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford for 25 years. A devout Catholic, Jean was a faithful communicant of Assumption Church in Manchester. Jean enjoyed doing several crafts, such as crocheting angels, sewing and knitting. She was also a long-time avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Jean is survived by many close friends, including her dear friend Ciro Franco, Nancy Piscitelli, Debbie and Bill Bentrup, Karen Moore, Peter Brennan and the Eucharistic Ministers who took the time to visit her.
Funeral service will be Tuesday (May 21st) at 10:30 am from the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11am at Assumption Church of St. James Parish, 29 South Adams Street, Manchester. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday morning from 9:30 am – 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Assumption Church, 29 South Adams Street, Manchester, CT 06040.
