

John Charles Leonard, 58, of East Hartford, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, with family and friends by his side. John was born Oct. 5, 1956, to the late William F. Leonard Jr. and Marguerite M. (LaPoll) Leonard. He was a resident of East Hartford all
his life, graduating from East Hartford High School in 1974. He was a
U.S. Marine, proudly serving aboard the USS Coronado during the Lebanon evacuation. John was also was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3901. He is survived by his siblings, Mary F. Wood of Clinton, William “Bill” Leonard of South Windsor, Susan Kamm of East Hartford, Michael Leonard of East Hartford, and Anne Tamiso and her husband, Rich of Higganum; nephews, Jason Wood and his wife, Althea, William Leonard, Michael Leonard, Noah Leonard, Nicholas Kamm and his wife, Karyn, Rich Tamiso and his wife, Erin, Sam Tamiso, and Ben Tamiso; nieces, Angela Ford and her husband, Kyle, Amy Purcell, and Allissa Tamiso; great
nephews, Zachary Wood, Matthew Ford, Andrew Kamm; great nieces, Rachel
Ford and Harlena Kamm; his very special friend Catherine Alco; and
very good friends, Pete Stenger and Rene Morrisette. John was
predeceased by his sister Patricia. John will forever be remembered by his family and loved ones for his joy, his laughter, and his playful spirit, which always sought the
good and the funny side of any situation. John, Uncle John, Mr. John,
rest in peace. We will all miss laughing with you.
Family and friends are invited for calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m.
Monday, (December 8th) at D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter
St., East Hartford. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the
