

Julie Rose Hill, 86, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born on September 17, 1938 to the late John and Bertha (Garstka) Cichon. Julie grew up in Hartford, CT. She moved to New York to further her education and obtained Bachelor and Masters degrees from Eastman School of Music and Ithaca College. While working at the Student Union at Ithaca College, she met the love of her life of 54 years whom she has now reunited with, her husband Wallace. Julie spent her career both in banking at Connecticut Bank and Trust and as a teacher, teaching both elementary and middle school and teaching music, which was her passion.
Julie was devoted to her Christian faith, most recently being an attendee of Manchester Baptist Church. Following Christ was important to her. Julie was also a classically trained musician, playing the violin and piano, which she did through out her lifetime, both in private and professional settings. She also was an avid collector, collecting anything featuring owls and gnomes and coffee mugs.
Julie is survived by her two daughters; Deborah Wojnilo and her husband Richard of California, and Christine Harding and her fiancé Jeffrey Haddock of Enfield. Four adored grandchildren; Lindsay Torres and her husband Trevor, Cody James Hill, Kyle Hill and his fiancée Jaime Kinne, and Skylar Mason. And a dear friend of 52 years, Agnes Lewis.
A funeral service to celebrate Julie’s life will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:30 am at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St. East Hartford. Julie’s family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10 am – 10:30 am. Burial will follow in State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Julie’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
