Kerry Dermody

Kerry Dermody passed away on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2018. He joins his father, Lawrence Arthur Dermody, in heaven. Kerry was born October 4, 1960. Kerry fought hard battles during the past 38 years since his accident. He was determined to live life as best he could, while confined to a wheel chair. That wheel chair did not stop him. His parents, Lawrence and Jeanine Dermody bought him a boat and Kerry loved to take it out while being pulled on a tube. Kerry had many friends over the years that helped him to enjoy his life. We have to thank Brian Coppinger and Bob Johnson for their friendship especially while Kerry was not well. A special thanks to his cousin, Jimmy Joe Dermody, for the times they had while younger and for standing by Kerry in his time of need. Kerry loved watching sports. He was an avid Yankees, Giants, NASCAR fan and a lifetime member of Volunteer Hose Company #3.

Kerry will be greatly missed by his mother, Jeanine Rose Discoe Dermody, who lives with Kerry's sister, Lori Ellen Herbert and her husband Daniel Herbert in Jensen Beach, Fl., Kerry's sister, Colleen Dermody Sample and her husband, Brian Sample, who live in Stuart, FL., Kerry's brother Brian and Kathleen Downing Dermody of Glastonbury, who's care and love helped Kerry live as long as he did, a nephew Kurt Lawrence Dermody of VT., and a niece, Shana,( Kerry's godchild) and her husband.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford Ct 06118 on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Burial will be private at a later date in Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kerry’s name may be made to Hartford Hospital-Fund Development 80 Seymour St, P.O. Box 5037 Hartford CT 06102-5037.
