

Laurelle (Plourde) Parent, 96, of Brooksville, FL and formerly of East Hartford, loving wife for many years of the late Leonard L. Parent, peacefully went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born in Eagle Lake, ME on March 8, 1921, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lodia (Dube) Plourde, she was happily a resident of East Hartford for 35 years prior to moving to Florida in 2007 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed for 21 years by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford. A devout catholic, Laurelle was a longtime devoted communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford and St. Anthony’s Church in Brooksville, FL. She was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Vernon and enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially beautiful blankets for her family and friends. Most of all, Laurelle loved spending time with her family, dancing, and living life to its fullest.
Laurelle will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her children: her son, James Parent and his wife Laura of Old Lyme; her daughter, Rachel Laliberte and her husband Roger of Brooksville, FL; her beloved grandchildren: Susan, Michele, Michael, James, Julie, and Christopher; ten incredible great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Laurelle was predeceased by, and is now with, her beloved grandson Matthew Poirier.
Funeral service will be Saturday (September 23rd) at 9 am from the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at Our Lady of Peace campus of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 370 May Road, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, (Section 23C), Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday afternoon (September 22nd) from 4-6 pm.
