

Leo (Papa) P. R. Ladue, 81, of East Hartford, beloved husband for 53 years of the late Natalie (White) Ladue, entered into eternal rest on Monday (May 28, 2012) with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Fred and Beatrice (Stanhope) Ladue and was born in Richford, VT on August 14, 1930. Leo was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney as a machinist for over 30 years. Leo was member of the VFW in East Hartford and a life member of the American Legion in Windsor, VT. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was an avid UConn and Red Sox fan. Leo was very active with the Gray Lodge in Manchester; he also was a little league coach in East Hartford for many years. He delivered presents at Christmas as Santa for 41 years to all the children of the Sunset Hills Association. More than anything, however, Leo was devoted to his family. He is survived by his sons, Dennis G. Chase and his wife Diane of New Britain and David L. Ladue and his wife Laurie of Bradenton, FL; his daughters, Donna M. Wilson and her husband Ronald of Manchester and Debra J. Height and her husband Ken of South Glastonbury; his brothers, Jimmy Ladue of Waterbury, VT and Phillip Ladue and his wife Bonnie of Windsor, VT; his sisters, Alice Smith and her husband Charles of Milford, NH, Marion Roberts and her husband Frankie of Cornish, NH and Linda Flemming and her husband David of Westbrook, ME. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Rodney and Kevin Wilson, Dennis and Whitney Chase, Damian and Melissa Ladue and Paul and Eric Height; his loving great-grandchildren, Dakota, Dalton, Jakob, Savannah, Nykolas, Renee, Kevin Jr., Stephanie and Harper and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents Leo, is also predeceased by his brothers, Carlton, Nelson and Donald, and his sister, Beverly.
The funeral service will be Saturday (June 2) at 10 a.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, East Hartford.
