

Linda E. Underwood, 57, of East Hartford, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, (November 20, 2011) after a long illness. Born in Hartford on April 19, 1954, a daughter of Frances E. (Larrabee) Underwood and the late Kenneth ""Bud"" Underwood, she had resided in East Hartford for most of her Hartford, Class of 1972. She was employed by Aetna Insurance Company for many years as a Computer Programmer. Linda enjoyed playing darts and was involved in the Greater Hartford Dart League for several years. She was a former member of the Moose Club in Hartford and was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially of both Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Junior. She loved dogs and would rescue them and find a good home for them. She also liked playing Bingo, solving crossword puzzles with a nice cup of coffee, crafting, and camping. However, most of all, Linda cherished her time with her three special grandchildren. Besides her mother, Fran, of East Hartford, Linda is survived by her two sons, Derrick M. Ficara and Duane P. Ficara both of East Hartford, a daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Jason Breault of East Hartford; her fiancée, Robert ""Bob"" Keduk of East Hartford with whom she made her home; an uncle, Phil Underwood of East Hartford; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise and Bruce Trent of Vernon, Elaine and Roger Dube of East Hartford, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Underwood and Lisa Chotkowski of Glastonbury, Thomas and Marge Underwood of East Hartford; a step-daughter, Crystal Keduk of East Haddam; three adored grandchildren, Natalee Breault, Caitlyn Breault, and Vito Ficara; her two dogs, Earl and Sasha. Linda was known as Auntie LaLa to nine nieces and nephews, two fairy god-daughters, and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves a special cousin, Maureen Sylvester; three dear friends, Ruth, Sue, and Mary; and many other relatives and friends. Along with her father, she was predeceased by two dogs, Dorothy and Lucy.
Funeral services will be Friday, (November 25) at 9:45 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
