Marc Michael Dufresne, 79, of East Hartford, loving husband of 57 years of Doris Ann (Roy) Dufresne, entered into eternal life on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Hartford Hospital from complications of the corona virus. Born in Meriden on February 12, 1941, a son of the late Lucien and Isabelle (Rancourt) Dufresne, he had been a life-long resident of East Hartford. Marc was a U.S. Army veteran and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the former Orient Lodge #62 AF & AM of East Hartford. Prior to his retirement, Marc was self-employed (Marc’s Industrial Catering) and proudly served the West Hartford community for 47 years. Marc’s passion for cooking was well known and he took every opportunity to do so for family and friends. Lifelong campers, Marc and Doris were “glued at the hip” and enjoyed life together side by side as soulmates. He was a devoted husband, father and took pride in his grandchildren. He never missed a milestone and spent countless hours on the sidelines and auditoriums. Marc also had an arsenal of jokes and couldn’t wait to put a smile on your face. He lived for a good practical joke and would even share laughs with perfect strangers. Marc had countless stories about his time in the service, his childhood pranks with his brothers and sisters and boasted about his grandkid’s accomplishments. He would lend a hand to those in need and many sought his advice and guidance. He touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all.
Along with his beloved wife Doris, Marc is survived by his children, Michael Dufresne and his wife Linda, of Ashford, Kimberly Colantonio and her husband Richard, of Hebron; Brian Dufresne and his wife, Vittoria, of Cromwell; five adored grandchildren, Nicholas Colantonio, Laura Osika and her husband Daniel, Amber Colantonio, Marc Dufresne, and David Dufresne. Marc also leaves two sisters Loretta, Isabelle and husband Gerald; six brothers, George and wife Judy, Gerald, Arthur, Donald and wife Fran, Lucien, Richard and wife Dotti; a brother-in-law, Richard Roy and wife Betty; sister in law Carolyn Roy and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Predeceased by his beloved brother Roland.
