Maria will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room. She found joy in cooking and shopping. Her home was always filled with the comforting aromas of her kitchen, and her meals had a way of bringing people together. All of the neighborhood children loved her. Maria’s kindness and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Maria is survived by one son, Jose Rodriguez, three daughters, Iris Nora Pagan, Debbie Astacio and Norma Rodriguez, nineteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Mildred Ortiz.
The funeral will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 16 Greenwood Street, Hartford on Tuesday, December 16th. Calling hours will be at the church from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield.
