Marion E. (griffing) Roberts

Marion E. (Griffing) Roberts, 81, of East Hartford, widow of Argyle W. Roberts, Sr., entered into eternal life, Saturday, (February 3, 2007) with her caring family by her side. Marion was born in Barkhamsted, the daughter of the late James A. and Ethel (Walters) Griffing. A member of the Southend Seniors of East Hartford. She retired from the Hartford Office Supply in Hartford, and had also been employed for 25 years by the former Manchester Modes. Marion enjoyed being a caring mother and was a proud grandmother. Marion leaves her two sons, Argyle ""Rob"" W. Roberts, Jr. and his wife Marge of Berlin and James A. Roberts and his wife Cha of Byron, GA; her three daughters, Joyce Griffing-Roberts and her partner Susan, with whom she made her home, of Manchester; Jennifer Carroll and her husband John Sr., of Deltona, FL and Dawn Gallo and her husband Santo of East Hartford. Many nieces and nephews and her faithful companion, her dog, Princess, also survive her. Calling hours are Monday, February 5, 4- 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Funeral services are Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel, with Monsignor Clancy officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford. Marion's family wants to extend their deepest appreciation for the wonderful care given to her by the Vernon Hospice workers.
