

Mary Beth “Bea” (Agnew) George, 62, of East Hartford, loving wife of 37 years of Raymond C. George, peacefully entered into eternal life with her caring family by her side at her home on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. Born in Hartford on August 3, 1954, a daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Helen M. (Handy) Agnew, she had been a life-long resident of East Hartford. Bea was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1972 and was very involved with their class reunion committee. She was employed for over fourteen years by IPMS in East Hartford and was a former communicant of St. Isaac Jogues Church, East Hartford. Bea was talented in crocheting afghans and clothes for family and friends, and was an avid reader. She also loved going to the beach, especially Misquamicut State Beach in Rhode Island. Most of all, Bea will be remembered as a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.
In addition to her beloved husband Ray, Bea is survived by a son, Jason R. George and his wife, Heather, of East Hartford; a daughter, Julie L. George and her significant other, Ken Macias, of Sacramento, CA; and a precious granddaughter, Clementine R. George of East Hartford. She also leaves three brothers, Gary Agnew and his wife, Dorothy, of Columbia, James Agnew and his wife, Elaine, of Bolton, Francis “Hank” Agnew of Storrs; five sisters, Sharon Riordan and her husband, William, of East Hartford, Susan Coburn and her husband, Timothy, of Glastonbury, Christine Agnew of East Hartford, Diane Turkis and her husband, Bruce, of Columbia, Theresa “Teka” Agnew of New Britain; her mother-in-law, Evelyn (Hanley) George of Dover, NH; two sisters-in-law, Donna Parsons and her husband, Dave, of Wolfeboro, NH, Janet Kelley and her husband, Kevin, of Epping, NH; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. Along with her parents, Bea was predeceased by her father-in-law, Charles George.
Funeral service will be Friday (April 21st) at 9:30 am from the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 1 Community Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Thursday (April 20th) from 3-7 pm.
