

Mildred (Haskins) Dawkins, 88, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Hollis C. Mack and the late Nathaniel Dawkins, passed away peacefully on Sunday (December 11, 2011). She was born in Dawson, GA on February 12, 1923, daughter of the late Seymour and Eunice (Gilbert) Haskins. Mildred was employed by G. Fox & Company in Hartford for many years. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed poetry. Mildred is survived by her three sons, Kevin Mack of New Britain, Michael C. Mack and his partner Robin Ross and Scott R. Dawkins and his partner Sandra Noel, all of East Hartford; her three daughters, Kathleen Washington of Hartford, Melinda Pinkney of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Mina D. Dawkins of Broad Brook. Besides her husbands, Mildred was predeceased by three sons, Richard Mack, Hollis C. Mack (Skippy) and Dennis A. Mack (Hook). She is also survived by her 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17 at 12 noon at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Family and friends may visit the funeral chapel Saturday morning prior to the service from 10-12. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
