
Myrtle (Luther) Russo, 84, of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Tullio D. Russo, peacefully passed away surrounded by her devoted and loving children on Tuesday, (July 13, 2010), after having missed her loving departed husband since 1999. Born in Sunnyside, Newfoundland, Canada on October 5, 1925, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Luther, she had resided in East Hartford for over fifty years. Myrtle was a very sweet, gentle, plain woman who loved being a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She also enjoyed going out in her yard and watching the birds and squirrels. Along with her loving husband and parents, Myrtle was predeceased by her two brothers, George Luther and Leslie Luther both formerly of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada. Myrtle is survived by her four special devoted children: son, Dane Allan Russo and his wife, Valerie, of Leesburg, FL; three daughters, Carole A. Russo of Wethersfield, Donna M. Russo of Columbia, Lisa R. LeBel and her husband, Steven, of Windham; four adored grandchildren, Keri Jockers and her husband, Ryan, Craig T. Discenza, Dane Brett Russo and his wife, Meghan, and Peter Tullio Russo; three great-grandchildren, Craig Discenza, II, Paige Jockers, and Christian Jockers. She also leaves four sisters, Jean Bartlett of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada, Rose Griffiths of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Lily Walsh of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada, Marie Parsons of Ft. McMurray, Alberta, Canada; several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Funeral services will be Monday, July 19th with a celebration of Myrtle's life at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1120 Silver Lane, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. There are no calling hours.
