

Philip Naples, 98, of Glastonbury CT, born on February 4, 1928, in Portland Maine, a respected electrical engineer, WWII Veteran and steadfast provider for his family, passed away after a brief illness, on April 8, 2026.
Philip lived a life marked by discipline, responsibility, and commitment to his work. He built a long and distinguished career at United Technologies Corporation, where he was known for his technical expertise, reliability, and strong work ethic. Over the course of his career, he held multiple patents, reflecting both his skill and dedication to his profession.
He will be remembered by his family for his guidance, practical nature, love of ice cream even in the winter, and his constant encouragement to think outside the box, consider different perspectives, and "use your brain" to solve problems for the betterment of others.
He is survived by his three children, daughters Laurie and husband Alex Romero of Southwick, MA, Debra Chapman of Manchester, CT: a son Philip and wife Hope Naples of Tampa Bay, FL: ten grandchildren: Antonio, Thomas, Matthew, and Alexis Romero, Dominique, David, Daniel, Rachel, Khalia and Katherine Chapman; great grandsons Darrien, Dante and Jace Romero and great granddaughters Allie Romero, Elizabeth and Rosemarie Chapman; a sister in law Cathy Naples of Glastonbury, CT along with his nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 49 years Betty Naples, his parents Frank and Rachel (Bifulco) Naples of Naples Italy and Portland ME, brother John Naples of Portland ME, brother Nicholas Naples of Glastonbury, CT and granddaughter Desiree Chapman.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors at Hartford Hospital, specifically Adam, and the staff for their compassionate care.
Family and friends are invited on Saturday April 18, 2026 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St, East Hartford, CT.
