Randy Carol Rasmussen

Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 14, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Ray Lucy and Robert Martin Rasmussen. She grew up in East Hartford and was a longtime employee of Sears Department Stores in Manchester, CT.

Randy was an artistic soul who, as a young woman, loved to design and sew her own clothes. She was also a talented photographer who is remembered for always having a camera with her, starting with a Kodak Brownie when she was in grammar school. Through her photography, she captured many happy moments during gatherings of family and friends. She carefully preserved her photos in dozens of albums that span many decades and serve as a treasured history for family members. She loved animals, especially dogs. Ashley Welks, an Old English Sheepdog, and Oxford Blue, a Tibetan Terrier, were her good companions and her pride and joy.

Besides her husband Alan, Randy is survived by her two stepdaughters, Diana Grabsch of Meriden and Laura Balga of Cherry Hill, NJ, a brother, Thomas J Rasmussen of Simsbury, two sisters, Dina Oliver (Fred) of Boston, MA and Ruth Rasmussen of Bellingham, WA, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

All services are private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services have been entrusted to D'Esopo East Hartford Funeral Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford, CT.
