

Robert John Gasper, 71, of Haddam and formerly of Killingworth, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown. Born in Manchester, a son of the late Joseph W. and Anne (Ambrose) Gasper he had resided in Killingworth for over 25 years prior to moving to Haddam in 2005. Robert was a graduate of Howell Cheney Technical High School in Manchester, Class of 1960. A devout Catholic, Robert was a faithful communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Chester and a member of The Legion of Mary. Prior to his retirement he was employed by SNET for 37 years where he retired as an Engineer. Robert enjoyed automobiles and working outside in his yard. Robert is survived by a son, Matthew M. Gasper and his wife, Debra, of Granger, IN; a daughter, Meredith M. Wolfrom and her husband, Scott, of Melrose, MA; and three granddaughters, Madelyn, Sienna, and Ayla. He also leaves a sister, Deborah Guarino and her husband, Stephen, of Houston, TX; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with his parents, Robert was predeceased by a brother, Joseph W. Gasper of Maine. Funeral service will be Saturday (November 8th) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 am at St. Joseph's Church, Chester. Private burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chester. (Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church on Saturday morning). There are no calling hours.
