
Robert 'Bud' C. McLean, 76, of East Hartford, loving husband for over fifty-three years to Anna (McLaughlin) McLean, peacefully entered into eternal life on Thursday (May 20, 2010) at his home with his caring family by his side. Born in Hartford on December 22, 1933, a son of the late Harold N. and Helen (Roberts) McLean, Bud had been a resident of East Hartford for the past forty-seven years, and was an electrician in the Glastonbury/East Hartford area for most of those years. Bud was a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford and a member of the former Goodwill Grange in Glastonbury. Bud volunteered for many years with the Boy Scouts of America and was a former Assistant Scout Master for Troop #61 in East Hartford. Bud was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and gardening (especially maintaining his lawn). Bud was also a loyal fan of the UCONN Women basketball team. Along with his beloved wife, Anna, Bud is survived by a daughter, Susan M. McLean of East Windsor; a son, Robert 'Starr' J. McLean of Manchester; a sister, Doris Jane Links of Hebron; his mother-in-law, Evelyn (Leifert) McLaughlin of East Hartford; several nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be Monday (May 24) at 10 a.m. from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Grove Street, Glastonbury.
