Robert J. ""Bob Walker

Robert J. ""Bob"" Walker, 53, of East Hartford, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Born in Hartford on July 13, 1962, a beloved son of Mary E. (Botts) Walker and the late Alexander Walker, he had resided in East Hartford for most of his life. Bob attended local schools in East Hartford and George J. Penney High School. He was employed as a Roofer by the Roofer's Union Local 9 for many years. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and liked fishing. He also enjoyed movies and especially loved going to see them with his brother. Robert is survived by his mother, Mary of East Hartford with whom he made his home; a brother, Stanley A. Walker and his wife, Linda, of South Windsor; a niece and nephew, Krystal Walker and Jeffrey Walker both of South Windsor; a special close cousin, Bruce Roy of Storrs; several dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Besides his father, Bob was predeceased by a brother, David A. Walker of East Hartford. Funeral service will be Wednesday (February 3, 2016) at 10 am from the D'Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, Cambridge Drive, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, (Section E), East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday morning from 9-10 am.
