

Sebastian A. ""Micky"" Intravia, Esq., 99, of Rocky Hill and formerly East Hartford, beloved husband for over sixty years of Florence (Granato) Intravia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday (December 14, 2011) with his family by his side. Born on May 5, 1912 in Middletown, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Sebastiana (Passanisi) Intravaia who immigrated to Middletown from Melilli, Sicily. Micky worked for many years in the family business, the Intravia Florists, first in Middletown and then in the south end of Hartford. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall University and the Boston University School of Law. He practiced law in Middletown, Hartford and then in East Hartford for almost forty years at the law firm of Intravia, Intravia and Intravia. Micky was a proud WWII veteran of the U.S. Army where he worked as a translator, serving in Africa and the Middle East. He served many roles and organizations including the Italian American Club, as an assistant prosecutor, as corporation counsel as well as the East Hartford Redevelopment Agency. Micky was an exemplary husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who loved him. In addition to his wife Florence, Micky is survived by two sons, Robert and James, his daughter-in-law Catherine, four grandchildren, Kathleen Kocatas and her husband Reha, Paul Intravia and his wife Lisa, Lauren Intravia, and Jessica Intravia; four great-grandchildren, Alexei, Julien, Luca and Natalie; two brothers, Joseph Intravia of Oakland, CA and George Intravia of Wethersfield; his brothers-in-law Joseph Granato of Rocky Hill and Frank Granato; and his close cousin, Pauline (Intravia) Blesso, as well as many dearly loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven of his siblings, William, John, Josephine, Lucy, Helen, Teddy, and Edward and his sister-in-law, Laura Granato.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (December 20) at 11 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Family and friends may call on Tuesday morning, from 9-10:30 a.m., at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford.
