Steve died suddenly at his home in Manchester, Ct. on March 31, 2014 of a long standing heart condition. He was 63 years old. Steve grew up in Wethersfield, Ct. and spent summers at the family home on Moosehead Lake in Maine. He attended the University of Maine in Orono, graduating in 1974. Although saddled with several permanent disabilities Steve was able to live on his own. Stephen was predeceased by his parents, Eleanor and Walter Butterfield of Greenville, Me., and older brother, Spencer Butterfield of Cincinnati, Oh. Steve is survived by his brother Eric, sister-in-law Palmer, and nieces Alaska Butterfield and Gwen Butterfield in South Glastonbury, Ct, niece Jennifer Butterfield and nephew Matthew Butterfield of McMurray, Pa. His friends and family will remember a person with a good heart, forthright manner, and the ability to make you chuckle. There will not be a service or burial at this time.
