Theresa L. Jahne, 98, a longtime resident of Wethersfield, passed into eternal life on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Avery Heights Nursing Home in Hartford. Born June 30, 1925, the only daughter of Laurent and Emma Lessard, she grew up in Lowell, Mass., before her family moved to Hartford when she was a teenager. She was a proud communicant of the Church of the Incarnation, now part of Christ the King Parish, since the day Incarnation was founded in September 1963. She was also a graduate of the Archdiocese of Hartford Bible Study program for adults. Theresa was a member of the Incarnation Women’s Club and served for many years on the Flower Committee that decorated the church. She spent most of her working career as a cosmetics salesperson and counter manager with the Sage-Allen Department Stores. Theresa was a loving and compassionate daughter, wife, mother, relative and friend who lived her Roman Catholic faith every day. She loved to cook and bake and travel. She was deeply proud of her French-Canadian heritage and was fluent in French. Her home was always a warm and welcoming place.
She is survived by her son, Mark Jahne, of Wethersfield; a sister-in-law Annette Lessard of Virginia; a very special niece Patricia Gerrity of South Windsor, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Theresa was predeceased by her beloved husband Kenneth Jahne; her brothers Lionel Lessard Sr., Andre Lessard and Emile Lessard, and her nephew Robert Lessard.
