
Vincent J. Grasso, 54, of Cromwell and formerly of East Hartford, journeyed Home to meet his parents in Heaven on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Born in Hartford on July 23, 1955, a son of the late Ernest and Marie (Moriarty) Grasso, he had resided in East Hartford most of his life prior to moving to Cromwell this past January. Vinny was a graduate from the Class of 1973 at George J. Penney High School in East Hartford. A crafted handyman, Vinny was a quality woodworker and former cabinet maker. Prior to his retirement Vinny was employed by the State of CT-Department of Transportation as a mechanic and recently was employed by Main Street Automotive in East Hartford. Vinny liked all levels of Auto Racing, especially Drag Racing. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycles and spending quality time with his family. Along with his beloved parents, Vinny was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Grasso of East Hartford and Mark Grasso of Glastonbury. He is survived by a brother, Philip E. Grasso of Bridgeport; two sisters, Carol E. Mount of East Hartford, Lois E. DiBerardino and her husband, David, of Cromwell with whom he recently made his home; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Funeral services will be TODAY (Friday, April 9th) at 11am at the D?ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Harford. Burial will be at St. Mary?s Cemetery, Burnside Avenue, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel this morning from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.
