

Wayne John Ritchie, 58, of East Hartford and formerly of Enfield, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport. Born in Hartford on March 4, 1959, a son of Charlotte “Lottie” (Hicks) Ritchie of East Hartford and the late John G. Ritchie, he had been a resident of East Harford for many years. Wayne was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he retired after 29 years of serving his country. Wayne was an avid sports fan, enjoyed golf, and spending time with his sons at baseball games, especially of his favorite team the Boston Red Sox. He also was a fan of the New England Patriots.
Along with his mother, Wayne is survived by his wife, Kim (Miles) Ritchie of Enfield; his two beloved sons, Zachary and Garrett Ritchie both of Enfield, and his stepson Montana Sibilio of Enfield. He also leaves two sisters, Christine Ritchie of East Hartford and her two sons Joseph and James Melo; Sheral Ramos and her husband Norberto of Winsted and her son Zachary Kelly; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral service will be Tuesday (May 9th) at 11:00 am at Crossroads Community Cathedral, 1492 Silver Lane, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at Middletown State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. Relatives and friends may call at Crossroads Cathedral on Tuesday morning (May 9th) from 10:00-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wayne’s name may be made to Homes for the Brave, 655 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
