William Bill"" S. Palumbo

William “Bill” S. Palumbo, 96 of Glastonbury, CT passed away peacefully in his home on September 29, 2016. Bill is survived by his loving son Richard W. Palumbo, his wife Nancy, and his beloved granddaughters Robin and Gina Palumbo, his devoted sisters Rose Dolan and Emanuela O’Seep and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Luca and Diamantina Palumbo and his wife of 68 years Marcella.

He was born May 23, 1920 in Hartford, CT. He graduated from Glastonbury High School. After serving his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Force Base Unit, he made his home in East Hartford and retired from the Federal Government after 34 years of service. Bill enjoyed playing golf and was a huge advocate for animals. He especially enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family and sharing many memories of his life.

Funeral service will be Monday (October 3, 2016) at 9 am from the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Road, South Windsor. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, (Section N), Burnside Avenue, East Hartford.
