Lifelong resident of El Paso, attended Crockett School, Austin High and the College of Mines. She retired from E.P.S.I.D in 1986 after teaching kindergarten for 21 years. She was active in First Presbyterian Church serving as chairman of the Christian Pre-school for 8 years; other volunteer interests were The American Red Cross, Drive-A-Meal and the Assistance League of El Paso. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 62 years, Colonel (Retired) Joseph William (Bill) Long. Survived by son Bill Long Jr. and wife Ming from Addison, Texas, daughter Betsy Jessee and husband Mike from Vero Beach, FL, and son Bob Long from El Paso, TX. Family will like to thank Rosa Diaz for her loyal service taking care of mom and pop. Also would like to thank AVIDA Home Health Care and Hospice of El Paso for the care they gave our mother. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Martin Funeral Home Central.
