

Alfonso "Poncho" Bolaños, Jr., was called home to our Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2014 surrounded by his family. Poncho was born January 19, 1968 and was a native of El Paso. He graduated from Austin High School and Western Technical Institute receiving an Associates of Occupational Studies Degree in Automotive Technology and The University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. Poncho was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and biker who was loved by many friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esperanza Dominguez Bolaños. He is survived by his father Alfonso Bolaños, Sr., his wife Laura Bolaños, step daughters Destiny Acosta and Erika Olvera, Sister Margaret Bolaños Salazar (Benigno Salazar), Sister Cecilia Bolaños Paul, Sister Esperanza Bolaños Carr (George Carr), Brother Martin Bolaños (Dolores Bolaños), Brother Ernesto Bolaños and twelve nieces and nephews who all adored their uncle Poncho. Pallbearers: Martin Bolaños, Ernesto Bolaños, Michael Bolaños, Martin Bolaños, Jr., Jaime Bolaños, Benigno Salazar, George Carr, David Gamboa and Jesus Flores. Honorary Pallbearers: Matthew A. Carr, Jevonte Bolaños, David Griego, Martin Ortega, and Tony San Roman. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2015 at Martin Funeral Home, located at 3839 Montana Avenue. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church located at 1315 Travis Street with interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The Bolaños Family would like to extend sincere gratitude to his nurses at DaVita and his physicians at Texas Tech.
