Arturo Castor was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas where he was born on January 25, 1942.
He graduated from Ysleta High School, then proudly served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy Seabees "Can Do" division. He was a skilled heavy construction carpenter and expanded his craft through numerous university extension courses. He taught night classes to carpenter apprentices. Arturo worked for 45 years and retired as supervisor of department of maintenance and rehab, El Paso housing authority.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roberto Sr. and Ester Castor; his brothers Salvador "Chava" castor and Roberto jr castor.
He is survived by his cherished wife Roberta Jane "Bobbie" Castor, his daughter Margaret Castor Nartea, and his grandson Rodrigo Arthur Nartea; his goddaughter and niece Irma Perales-Castor; other nieces Esther Castor, Yvette Gutierrez, Sandra Castor, and Patricia Michel, and one nephew Jaime Castor.
Arturo loved to travel with his brother Chava and the family to fun parks in California and Florida.
All funeral services will be held in El Paso, Texas.
Rosary will be at the Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana from 7 to 9 pm on April 9. Mass will be at St. Joseph’s church, 1315 Travis at 11 am on April 10. Burial will directly follow at Mt. Carmel cemetery, 401 south Zaragoza rd. at 12:30 pm.
