Bertha Rios

Bertha is a native El Pasoan born July 27, 1948. She made her first Holy Communion at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church. During her teenage years she enjoyed doing volunteer work at Thomason Hospital. She liked going to yard sales looking for vintage perfume bottles and powder compacts. Bertha attended Burges High and UTEP. She worked part time at the library in the archive dept., under the direction of Leon Metz. Her first job was at the State National Bank and later worked at Southwestern Bell. She is preceded in death by her father, Jose C. Rios and her brother Joe Rios. She is survived by her mother Amelia Nava Rios, her sister Yolanda Rios and her brother Albert Rios from Omaha , Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home Central, 3839 Montana Ave. with the Vigil at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment at Restlawn Memorial Park. No wake will be held.
