Betty Cochran

Betty J. Cochran, 88, passed away on February 27, 2016. She died peacefully in her home with her husband and daughter at her side. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and school nurse. She was born in Southeast Missouri and was preceded in death by her parents Velma Wells and Edgar Dean. Betty graduated with her nursing degree from Baptist State Hospital in Little Rock, AR., in 1949. She retired from YISD after 23 years as the school nurse at East Point, Eastwood Knolls, and Edgemere Elementary. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Billy J. Cochran, children Stephen Cochran (Mimi), Anna Melton (Mike), Sean Cochran (Petra), grandchildren Kristy Melton, Kyle Melton, Kelley Cochran-Comer (Jon) and Anna B. Cochran. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to National Parkinson Foundation or Hospice of El Paso. Visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Scotsdale Baptist Church, 10015 Lockerbie, El Paso, TX 79925. Funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at 2:15 pm at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, New Mexico 88008.
