On March 1, 2015, Consuelo Sambrano, went to be with our Lord and Savior. As we grieve today for our mother, we also celebrate her life of 93 years. As in life, her strength and courageousness endured throughout her illness, and she fought bravely to stay as long as she could with her family. We will miss her in every way, but know in our hearts that she will always be with us in spirit. To Consuelo, her family was of the utmost importance and she continuously prayed for her family day and night in order to keep all of us safe. Her legacy of faith and prayer has laid the foundation for our family that has held us together during hard times, and will continue to do so. We rejoice in the fact that her one true wish has come true and that she is able to walk again without assistance. As she savors in the beauty of Heaven, may we find relief in knowing that all her pain and sorrow has now been replaced by God’s embrace. Preceded by death is Consuelo’s father Miguel Rey, her mother Refugio Rey, and her grandson, Marc Kevin Montes. Consuelo is survived by her beloved husband, Armando Sambrano, five daughters, and sons-in-laws: Margie and Victor Montes, Angie and Albert Perez, Connie and Fernando Torres, Sandra and Oscar Sanchez, and Marie and Hector Aguirre. Consuelo was blessed to be a grandmother to Lorraine Montes Sklar, Marc Kevin Montes, Chris Perez, Cindy (Perez) Gee, Amanda (Torres) Pacheco, Steven Torres, Alissa (Sanchez) Booth, Erin (Sanchez) Priest, Jarrod Aguirre and Jaymee (Aguirre) Barrett. Consuelo was also blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren: Paul Paoli, Lucas and Dominic Montes; Andrew, Christian and Jacob Perez; Tommy and Rhian Gee; Jade and Stevie Torres; Scout Booth, Bryson Priest, Brianna Aguirre, and Abraham Barrett. Consuelo was the eldest of four siblings and is survived by her brother, Armando Rey, and her two sisters, Ofelia Arroyo and Cuca Villegas.
