It has been 4 long years mother i still cry for you everyday I love you and RIP. Love you and miss you so mom

It’s been 4 years and it never gets easier. I hope I am making you proud. I love and miss you so much.

My mother Deadra Sourina Minifee  was an amazing woman she is greatly missed by all. She was an angel on earth. Miss you mother dear.

Momma Dee came into my life during one of the most painful times of my life, thanks to her daughter and now my sister, Michelle.  The first time I met her, we  were sitting in the living room and I believe she was listening to James Brown and she had this purple Crown Royal bag filled with change in her hand. I was instantly drawn to her.  I think she instinctively knew that I needed a mother figure in my life, and she provided that for me.  She was the cool mom and everyone hung out at her house.  She was so funny and full of life. Being in her presence made everyone feel so happy, especially me.  Where there was darkness and pain, she replaced it with light, love and happiness.
I’ll never forget the time she made me, Michelle and our other sister Norma clean some nasty chitterlings!  I was gagging from the smell of them.. I think we all were. Needless to say, we were not happy, but we did as we were told because as cool as she was, she didn’t play.
Momma Dee was always there for me, cheering me on,  through my darkest time as a teenager, throughout adulthood and my Navy career.  She would always tell me how proud she was of me. She would ask me about the countries I had seen and am my adventures. When things weren’t so good in my career, she encouraged me to be by best and not to worry about what people said.  She often asked when I was coming home to visit her and I always said I didn’t know but I would try as soon as I could.  Sadly, I never made it and I will always regret that.  
Momma Dee, I hope you knew how much I loved you.  Thank you for being my Angel and my light growing up.  Thank you for your love and support.  Until we meet again, you be good up there.  Heaven gained a beautiful Angel.  I love you forever and you will be greatly missed.

I have known Momma Dee since I was just barely a teenager and from day one she treated me as family. Everyone  remembers her bigger than life personality and awesome house parties. But I remember her home being a safe place to go to and the advice she would give me. I always knew that even if Mechelle was not home I was always welcomed there.  As an adult she treated my children as her own grandkids and she helped me get through my divorce. You always knew where you stood with Momma Dee if she liked you, you knew and she didn't well you knew then too. 
After her kids were grown she decided to do it all over again with her grand girls and when I say her life was all a out Tia and Tamara that would be an understatement. I remember she walked Tamara to and from school daily. Then came Aaron her ride or die! I only hope to have a bond that strong with my grandsons. 
To Mechelle, Annetra, Sonny and Danyale I hope you all know how proud and how much she loved all of you. 
I love you Momma Dee now and always. Rest in Paradise Queen.

MOMMA DEE, I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR LOVING ME AND BABIES AS YOUR OWN. YOUR HOME WAS SHEAS EVERYONE HOME WHEN NEEDED. SUNDAY DINNER, HALLOWEEN PARADE AT ALBUM AND COOKING JUST BECAUSE. YOU HAD A HEART OF GOLD!!  YOUR SPIRIT WAS OUTSTANDING ALWAYS SPEAKING YOUR MIND NO MATTER WHAT AND MOST OF THE TIMES IT WAS FUNNY BUT TRUE. MY ONLY REGRET WAS NOT GOING OVER MORE OFTEN, I TOOK FOR GRANTED THAT YOU WERE ALWAYS THERE. GOING TO MISS HAVING A COLD ONE WITH YOU AND I LOVED THAT YOU ALWAYS ENJOYED YOUR FLOWERS I TOOK YOU... IN AT PEACE KNOWING THAT YOU ARE FINALLY HOME AND DANCING ON FIELDS OF GRACE WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER AND NO DOUBT YOU ALREADY HAD A SIT DOWN WITH GOD N JESUS CHRIST IN THE MANY THINGS YOU SAID YOU WERE GOING TO ASK... LOVE YOU MOMMA DEE WILL KEEP YOUR MEMORY ALIVE IN MY HEART AND ALWAYS!!!

Deadra was such a sweet lady whom I meet threw her brothers James and Alan. May God Bless her family and give them strength during this time.

I met Dee Dee at the tender age of 12. Mechelle’s mom was the fun and cool mom on our block. She had these great parties where I heard Prince for the first time and she drove an awesome Z28 IROC! We neighborhood kids were in awe of her with her bigger than life personality and devil be damned attitude! She took you in as one of her own and was a momma bear with us once she did so . My deepest sympathy for her family at this very difficult time!  Thank you Mechelle for sharing your mom with all the neighborhood kids!

Our mother was one of a kind. She was a mother to so many so when I look at the obituary I understand that there are so many "sisters & brothers" name's that are missing. As so many have said she was truly the life of the party, made everyone feel welcomed as long as you showed up before 8pm because we all know how much she loved her sleep. She created bonds with several who have reached out to offer their condolences. She was preceded by her mother and father Willie & Eula Sourina along with her brother James "Jimmy" Sourina so I know there's a party going on. She loved James Brown so if out of the blue you hear a JB song that is DEE DEE speaking. Unfortunately due to Covid we are unable to have a home going celebration for her but please know all your messages, prayers, floral arrangements and meals are truly appreciated. We do have the programs & prayer cards so if you would like one please let Annetra or I know.

Deidre I've known you since you were nine years old living on Yuma we have been through a lot over the years help raise children together and grandchildren you were my partner in business we've had plenty good times together I will truly miss miss you but my love will go on forever rest in peace my dear friend no more suffering

DeeDee was one of the funniest ladies I know. I miss her "adventures with Aaron" posts, I miss her telling me to vote for somebody, then coming back a few years later saying she made a mistake. She loved KLAQ parades at Album Park. I remember her from waaay back on Louella when I was young. Her humor never changed. Praying for the entire family especially Meschelle. No words can comfort you. Just know she is with her parents and brother and being a Guardian Angel for you. I love having her on my side up there. Rest in Heaven Dear Heart. We will always remember you with a smile.

Dee Dee knew how to enjoy life really lived.
She was always the life of the party. She never met a stranger made everyone feel welcomed. While she had no filters you knew where she stood and she was true to who she was.  She was always there for everyone.  Her laugh and smile will be greatly missed.  So hard to believe,  glad we were able to see her last year during our El Paso visit. Her Dallas family’s hearts thoughts and prayers are with all the family. RIP Dee Dee we love you 🙏🏽 

Deadra, I love our talk on the phone.  I enjoyed our conversation and everything 😊. Deadra, I am going to miss talking to you. Rest Well Niece. I'm going to miss you and hate I didn't get a chance to come down to meet you.  But we will meet again, and I love 💞 You.

My mom taught me to cook like her, and work hard,  and she was amazing and made the best peanut butter cookies ever. She never met a stranger everyone one was welcomed as family. I love you Mom and I will take everything you taught me and make the world a better place. I love you Mom.

Dee was as real as they come. I met her through Mechelle, and from day one she made me and Ced feel welcome. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Auntie the sweetest, fun loving, fun having person I had the pleasure to have in my life. She accepted me the day she met me. My fondest memory is when we go to her her for barbecues and parties for the family members. When I was sick she made me dinners and always kept us laughing. Thank you for being that special person in my life and you will never be forgotten. I love you, I’ll miss you and God will enjoy you.  Until we meet again.❤️
