Dora Teresa Marruffo Frost, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday June 15, 2023 at Caring Angels Foster Home where she resided for the past eight years. She was born on May 26, 1937 in El Paso, TX. She was an active member of Mount Hope Lutheran Church with her husband Robert “Bob” W. Frost, Jr. She worked tirelessly with Pastor Maria Valenzuela to start a Border Ministry for the Lutheran Church. This ministry became a reality and is known as “Cristo Rey Iglesia Lutheran-Milagro en la Frontera.” Dora also worked through Lutheran Brotherhood and their “Disaster Relief Program” to support Dr. Mendoza’s efforts to work with her medical skills among the poor or disadvantaged patients in the surrender colonies of the city dump of Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico area. Eventually she and Bob moved to Austin, TX where they became actively involved members at Triumphant Love Lutheran Church.
We will be forever grateful for the love and wonderful care shown to her by Gabby Minjares, owner of Caring Angels Foster Home and her staff, and the staff of 1st Choice Home Health and Hospice. Dora loved her family with all of her heart, and taught us all “to be sensitive and generous, unconcerned for yourself, yet concerned for others.”
Celebration of Life will be held at Funeraria del Angel Central on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. located at 3839 Montana Avenue, El Paso, TX 79903. Burial will be on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 in Dallas, TX at Grove Hill Funeral Home.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents David L. Marruffo, Sr. and wife Teresa and brother David L. Marruffo, Jr. She is survived by siblings: Ernest Marruffo (Pat) and Sylvia (Marruffo) Drury (Gary); sister-in-law Grace Marruffo; Nieces: Dana Marruffo , Kelley Groebner and Jackie Enriquez; Nephews: Miguel Briones (Marelynn Ayala), David Marruffo III and Aaron Marruffo; Daughters: Pat (Guillen) Jarvi (Wayne) and Dora Elizabeth Guillen; Grandchildren: Jessica (Maynez) Colaw (Zach), Tessa Jarvi and Mackenzie (Jarvi) Hellquist (Ben); Great Grandchildren: Henry, Noah, Magnolia & Gloriana Hellquist; Step-Sons: Robert W. Frost III (Linda) and James D. Frost (Dayne); Step-Daughter: Margaret Ingram (Duke); Grandchildren: Camille Frost-Crews (Charlie), Russell Ingram (Anna), Rachel Ingram Busenlehner (Bryce), Kelsey Steele (Tyler) and J.D. Frost; Great Grandchildren: Daley & Ollie Crews, Jack & Rhett Ingram and Emilia Steele.
