Emilio Duque, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on September 25, 2025. He is cherished by his family and friends for his faith and love of the Lord, kindness, integrity, humor and unwavering love. Anyone who met Emilio knew him for his funny and charismatic nature, always having a story to tell and for teasing his family and friends.
Emilio was born in Matamoros, Mexico to Emilio and Belen Duque. He was raised in the Rio Grande Valley. When Emilio turned 18, he enlisted into the United States Army. He took a brief pause in service and during that time he met Criselda, his wife of 45 years. Emilio was very proud of his 25 years of service in the United States Army. He had a passion for mentoring and helping soldier's reach their full potential.
He continued his career working 20 years with Cube and Pride Industries, retiring January 2022. He carried the same mentorship and motivational characteristics learned in the military into Pride Industries working with friends and co-workers. He made it a priority to connect and communicate with family and friends daily by phone or text. Emilio's legacy will live on in our hearts as we remember him for his warmth, wisdom, humor and the positive impact he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed.
Emilio is survived by his wife Criselda Duque, sons Daniel Duque, Matthew (Krista) Duque, grandsons Gideon, Elias and Asher Duque, siblings Cresencio Duque (Noela Hernandez), Alicia (Roman) Rodriguez and Rene (Belinda) Duque along with a host of other relatives and friends who will miss his presence dearly. Emilio was preceded in death by his parents Emilio Sr. and Belen Duque, half sister Irene Duque Lerma, siblings Lourdes Duque, Gloria Duque, Jesus Duque.
Visitation will be Monday, October 6, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 805 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79902 with interment to follow in Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906. Our family would be thankful for you to join us at First Baptist Church to honor Emilio's desire for friends and family to celebrate his life together.
