On the evening of January 29, 2026 Emma Rita Sandoval passed away after suffering complications from a stroke she suffered almost 4 years ago. Emma was a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt and a true and loyal friend to many people.
Emma was born in Chihuahua MX, on January 11, 1944 to Jose and Eva Rivas. Emma had four brothers (Ramon Rivas, Beto Rivas, Lencho Rivas and Tony Rivas) as well as five sisters (Elba Heron-Keiser, Maria Krohn, Lupe Castillo, Dolores Adams and Rosalie Mauch).
At a young age Emma’s family left Chihuahua and moved to El Paso, TX where they became Naturalized US Citizens. Emma worked several jobs during her life including the Commissary in Fort Bliss and as a Supervisor at Siemens in El Paso.
Emma was married, and later divorced, to Phillip Sandoval and had two children (Phillip Sandoval Jr and Mary Ann Moya) and a son in law (Gilbert Moya). Emma had three grandchildren (Phillip Sandoval III, Danny Sandoval and Gabriel Sandoval) and eight great grandchildren (Gabriel Arturo Sandoval, Jeremiah Sandoval, Bella Sandoval, Rhiannon Sandoval, Lincoln Sandoval, Presley Sandoval, Daniel Sandoval Jr and Felipe Rene Sandoval).
Emma loved taking long walks around her neighborhood as well as through Memorial Park. She also loved teaching an exercise class at the Senior Center near her home. Emma was also a Dallas Cowboys fan and was a good cook known for her Menudo. She also liked Fishing and golf but her most favorite thing to do was go to Hawaii. She tried to go almost every year.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a scripture service at 6:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana Ave. El Paso, Texas 79903.
