Born on May 17, 1960, Lupe had a full life, making so many friends along the way. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother to her son, Isaac E. Lucero.
She is survived by her son, Isaac, her sister Monica Joyce Lucero, brother John Paul Lucero, her nieces, Selena Moniqe Lucero, Naomi Anne Puente, her grandnephew Jonathon and grandniece, Julissa, her long-time best friend, Danna Sadler and extended family from Texas, New Mexico, all the way to Nevada.
Lupe is preceded in death by her father, Teodulo J. Lucero, her mother, Ramona K. Lucero, and her brother, Isaac J. Lucero.
Lupe’s personality and character are unforgettable. She was always the Life of the Party. Her untimely departure is hard for so many of us to accept but we are grateful she is no longer suffering. Now that our Lord Jesus Christ has welcomed her into his loving arms, we know that she will watch over us.
Lupe was an excellent and highly competitive pool player for 25 plus years and ran amateur pool leagues in Central El Paso for many years. She was always encouraging players and business owners to join in the fun. But her 18+ year career with the El Paso Independent School District afforded her the ability to touch so many more lives and made her so happy and fulfilled. Her legacy will be the caring, loving and motherly way she treated all the students at her beloved Alma Mater, Austin High School. Her dedication and loyalty to the staff, teachers, and students was shown in her continued support, even after she retired in June 2021, by attending and or helping with so many games, concessions, fundraisers, etc., at the school. She truly was a PROUD PANTHER, through and through. Most recently, she became a driving instructor and made sure to teach her “kids” the do's and don’ts for safe driving habits took pride in their successes of becoming licensed drivers.
Lupe was not only the Rock of the family, but a devoted daughter, sister, Aunt, cousin, and was honored to be a godmother to twenty-two children of family and friends. She took the role of godmother wholeheartedly because it was such an honor to her and quite frankly, just in her nature. While we will have a tough time adjusting to life without you, we will have our memories to guide and comfort us, leaving us a smile on our face.
