Guillermo "Willie" Duran Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and cousin passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones in El Paso, Texas on January 3, 2025. Born on May 3, 1959 in El Paso TX to Enriqueta Duran and the late Guillermo Duran Sr., Willie lived his life with an unwavering spirit that touched everyone he met. He was always willing to help a friend and protect his family and friends.
Willie's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife Melissa Murillo Duran and cherished children: Andrea, Guillermo III, Nikki, Angel, Dominic, Vincent and Elissa. He was not only a loving father but grandfather to Atreyu, Grayson and Raven. He was a guiding light for his family—always encouraging them to pursue their dreams while instilling values of hard work and compassion.
As an electrician specializing in home maintenance for many years, Willie took immense pride in his craft. His hands built more than just homes; they created safe havens filled with love for those who inhabited them. Beyond work commitments lay Willie's true passions—his heart thrived outdoors where he found joy camping under starlit skies or taking long road trips with loved ones. A motorcycle and car enthusiast at heart and a frequent visitor of car shows; these experiences brought him immeasurable happiness.
One of his favorite destinations was Ruidoso; it became synonymous with laughter-filled weekends surrounded by nature's beauty alongside those he adored most.
Music played an integral role in Willie's life as well—a soundtrack that accompanied countless memories shared with family and friends during gatherings or quiet evenings spent reminiscing about adventures taken together.
Willie’s warmth extended beyond immediate family ties; he leaves behind numerous relatives including his mother Enriqueta Duran and brother Arthur Duran along with his mother and father-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, and multiple cousins and close friends who will forever cherish their time spent together.
