96-year-old Isabel passed away on December 20, 2025 in Bedford, Texas. She was born in Chihuahua, Mexico to Ramon Velez and Maria Luisa Quirarte. She was a kind and loving wife to Adolfo Ortiz and mother and friend that will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband Adolfo Ortiz.
She leaves behind her children, Martha Ortiz Nicely, Adolfo Ortiz Jr and grandson Adrian Nicely along with many family members and friends to cherish her memory.
Isabel enjoyed reading Spanish newspapers from Ciudad Juarez, word find puzzles and was a great sports fan of Mexican soccer. In her younger years she played in a women's basketball team in Ciudad Juarez.
Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Central, 3839 Montana ave. El Paso, Texas 79903; funeral mass will be January 6, 2025 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, 4700 Delta Dr., El Paso, Texas 79905, with burial to follow immediately after at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza rd. El Paso, Texas 79907.
