Doug was born on August 31, 1934, in a small town in Eastern Oklahoma. He moved to El Paso in 1947 where he attended Austin High School and proudly played on the football and baseball teams. He graduated from Austin HS in 1953.
In 1954, he married Nancy Lee Bohanon, and they went on to have three daughters; Leeann Haynes(of Garland,TX), Laurie Smith (of El Paso, TX), and Lisa Larkin (of Alpharetta, GA).
After retiring from Chevron after 37 years, Doug enjoyed being a longtime member of Vista Hills Country Club, serving as a volunteer for Sierra Medical Center, and spending time with his 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Douglas was preceded in death by his father Jack Erwin and his mother Leona Erwin.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Martin Central, 3839 Montana Ave., El Paso, TX. 79903.
